Absolutely incredible! There are so many stars it boggles the mind. And they are all the way down to the horizen! Flagstaff is a Dark Sky city and once you look up at the sky on a cloudless night, you'll see why! This picture gives you an idea of what it looks like at night. Just a few more than the 12 I used to count in the sky when we lived in San Diego!
Stars, stars...everywhere!

Steve and I have taken several walks but today I decided to bring the camera and take some pictures. We walked for a little over an hour and did 3.4 miles. Speed was not the goal...avoiding slushy puddles and ice was, though!! Click here to see the photos in Snapfish. Yes, we made it to the MVD (they call it Motor Vehicle Department here) and now have Arizona plates for the car and truck. It took about 10 minutes. A little quicker than the California DMV! I have ordered a specialized plate for my car. It's supposed to arrive in 5-6 weeks. So even though the back plate is Arizona, we left the California VEGGY plate on the front for now. We will be replacing the front plate with one that says FLAGSTAFF as soon as we find it...Our friends Joan and Steve gave it to us but alas...it's missing in action....no doubt tucked in a box somewhere. Steve and I have looked for it twice!! We're bummed. It's in the hidden black hole that also has my yarn ball winder and our 2013 Ireland calendar! Oh well. PS: We got our Arizona driver's licenses, too. Guess we're here to stay! |
